These are the different options available for earning points during the summer competition. Remember that this competition is in effect from June 1st through August 15th at 11:59 PM. You can complete
TWO additional activities every day in additional to your regular practice time. If you decide to do one of the more involved options (SoundTrap, NoteFlight, or Incredibox) don't forget to watch the tutorial videos so you know how to use the programs. I will be updating videos, playlists, and games on a weekly basis. The first update will happen on
Sunday, June 11th except for the Classics for Kids podcast will be updated on Sunday June 4th.
Make sure you submit what you have done every day through the Points Submitting Page
- Daily Required Practicing - 200 points
- Students who are in books levels 1-2 OR taken for 0-2 years should be practicing for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- Students who are in books levels 3-4 OR taken for 3-4 years should be practicing for a minimum of 45 minutes.
- Students who are in books levels 5+ OR taken for 5-6 years should be practicing for a minimum of 1 hour.
- Students who have taken for 7+ years should be practicing for a minimum of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

- SoundTrap Project - 150 points
- You will need to create a free account on this website to utilize the software.
- Visit This site and select "Get Started" then "Personal Use" and Sign up using whichever method you wish to (Remember to have parental permission as they need to sign up for children younger than 13)
- You will need to use the Google Chrome browser to use this software. If you do not have this browser installed you can install here.
- Click to "Enter Studio"
- Select "Blank" template to create your own
- Watch the tutorial videos found at the top of the screen
- After you are finished with your composition, select to "Collaborate" with me and then send it via my studio email (kofoedmusic2013@gmail.com) and Send.
- Once you have shared your composition with me then I can look at it once you have submitted that you have completed a SoundTrap project through the Points Submitting Page.
- Incredibox - 100 points
- Watch This Tutorial Video paying special attention in how to add, remove, mute, and solo "dudes". Pay close attention towards the end of the video on how to "record" and how to share.
- Go to http://www.incredibox.com/ and select either versions 2, 3, or 4 to make your own piece.
- Create your own and record it then share your project using the URL link and submit that in the "comments" section of the Points Submitting Page.
- NoteFlight Projects
- Watch the following tutorials before you begin:

- Go tohttps://www.noteflight.com/ and select to "Sign Up" from the top right corner. Sign up using whatever credentials you want.
- You will need to finish creating your profile before it will take you to your home screen.
- Select "New Score" and choose a blank sheet, get started on either of the two available projects.
- After you are finished with your project you need to "connect" and "share" it with me. You need to click to "Connect" in the top right corner, then make sure "everyone" can access the score and "anyone with a link can 'view' it." Make sure you save this setting. Next, click the "share link" and copy and paste the link given into the comments section of the Points Submitting Page.
- Transposition Project - 100 points
- Week 1 - Complete the Transposition of This Song for both the Treble AND Bass staves for only the first 8 measures. We are going to transpose UP to the key of B Major. Double check your key signatures, intervals, and accidentals as you input everything.
- Create own Composition Project - 150 points
- Create your own piece of music with both treble and bass staves for
piano, and just treble for violin. Make sure your piece is at least 20
measures long.
After you have completed your daily practice or any additional projects for the day make sure you submit what you have completed through this Points Submitting Page
